Announcing The Newest Hometown Pride 2.0 Winner!

The Cenex brand, in partnership with Perley Community Co-op in Perley, Minn., has awarded Rural Enrichment And Counseling Headquarters (REACH) Inc. a $25,000 Hometown Pride grant. The organization was selected for its countless contributions to the Perley, Hawley, Hendrum, and rural Clay and Norman communities through their programs to assist seniors, help locals secure employment, and combat food insecurity with food pantries and school backpack programs.

Originally founded in 1991 to provide local mental health resources, REACH has grown and evolved through the years to meet the changing needs of the communities it serves.

With the nearest food shelf and mental health resources located 25 miles from the Perley community and 67 percent of Perley residents lacking access to a running vehicle, REACH works to keep the community connected while providing critical human services.

With the help of this grant, REACH will amplify its backpack program, a supplemental food initiative that provides food items for children to take home over the weekend. Having supplied over 60,000 bags to over 200 children, REACH aims to make this program accessible to every child in need within Perley and surrounding towns.

We’re proud to support REACH and excited to give back to the important work happening in their local Cenex community!
