Cenex® Presents Hayward Musky Festival $25,000 Hometown Throwdown Prize

Cenex proudly awarded Hayward Musky Festival the $25,000 Hometown Throwdown prize! Matt Mohs, vice president of refined fuels and lubricant sales at CHS; Robert Davis, general manager at Northern Lakes Cooperative; and Mike Covelli, general manager at Northern Lakes Cenex, presented the $25,000 prize to Brianna McKenzie and Chris Ruckdaschel of the Hayward Area Chamber of Commerce during the festival.

Going on 74 years, Hayward’s Musky Fest highlights the great fishing history of Wisconsin’s Northwoods. The celebration, held the weekend after Father’s Day each year, features fun for all ages, including sidewalk sales, live music, children’s games, the crowning of a new Musky Queen, and of course, a fishing competition. With its long history tied to fishing, community engagement, family fun, and local pride, it is no surprise that Hayward’s Musky Fest was a Hometown Throwdown top 3 finalist.

The $25,000 prize recognizes the festival’s significant impact on the local community and its outstanding achievement as a Hometown Throwdown finalist. This contribution will help the Hayward Musky Festival continue to thrive, ensuring that it remains a cornerstone event for the Hayward community for years to come.

The Cenex brand will be at the other two festival finalists, Norborne Soybean Festival and Roseau Fall Harvest Festival, this summer and fall to celebrate with those local communities!
