Verifone and Petrovend End-Of-Life Deadline is August 31

As previously communicated, the Ruby/Sapphire and OPW Petrovend end-of-life on the Cenex network is August 31, 2017.  That means locations still operating on this equipment at the end of August will be subject to end-of-life hardware fees on their monthly Payment Solutions statement.

If you have not already done so, now is the time to start looking at your options for upgrading to an EMV capable system.  Cenex marketers have access to exclusive pricing for Verifone RubyCi and Commander as well as Gilbarco Passport point-of-sale equipment.  Plus, CHS Technology Rebates of up to $2,800 apply to purchases made before August 31, 2017.

In addition to the special pricing noted above, we’ve partnered with Patriot Capital to provide financing options. You can even finance installation and other upgrade costs.  If you are financing your purchase, please be sure to let your equipment company know up front.

Verifone

RubyCi is an all-in-one point of sale system. Breaking down the name, this system is comprised of a Ruby2 touch screen along with a “Ci” or scaled down “Commander inside.” The RubyCi is installed at the front counter, and will support a c-store with up to 16 fueling positions and two lanes for inside sales.

Commander is a powerful site controller designed for high volume c-stores. Installed in the back room, this solution can be equipped with multiple redundancies such as dual hard drives, hot swappable power supplies, and battery backup. Commander connects with Ruby2 and Topaz interfaces, and can support up to 60 fueling positions, and multiple lanes for inside sales

Please note that these Verifone systems are IP based, meaning no more serial connections or the ability to process credit over a phone line. They utilize broadband internet connectivity to access the NBS network, and require a managed firewall solution to protect this connectivity from outside threats. To meet this requirement, CHS Payment Solutions has released the PaySafe device, which provides safe internet connectivity for merchant’s locations as well as many additional options. For more information on the PaySafe program, contact Payment Solutions at 800-852-5301.
