As previously discussed in an In The Know article, PCI Data Security Standards have very strict rules regarding operating system supportability and maintaining security updates. In April of 2019, Microsoft will no longer support or release critical security patches to the operating system that currently runs on the UTC 3100 and 3170 hardware platforms, forcing these solutions out of compliance.

CHS is working with Pinnacle on testing the next version of Palm software, RevH, and are anticipating it to be released it in October. With this version, we will continue to support the 3170 platform; however, newer supported operating systems are not compatible with the 3100 hardware. Due to this, the 3100 will no longer be supported and will need to be upgraded 6 months after the release. After that time, a $250 Software Out of Date fee will be assessed for sites that are still running on the 3100 hardware with older versions of Palm.
