The 2016 Cenex® Buyers Fair, hosted by CHS Retail Solutions, drew more than 350 professionals to the Ramada Plaza and Suites & Convention Center in Fargo, ND on June 14th & 15th. “Engage – Execute – Succeed” was the theme of this year’s event, which provided an opportunity to Cenex operators to utilize the connections they have created in previous Buyers Fairs to provide ideas and information on improving efficiencies, grow sales and discover new technology for their everyday operations.
“About 200 leading retailers attended this year’s Cenex Buyers Fair,” says Steve Haase, CHS retail solutions manager. “Trade show exhibits, the keynote speaker and an evening networking event gave retailers a valuable opportunity to connect with their peers and collaborate with vendors, CHS Retail Specialists and other industry experts while learning about the latest consumer industry data and trends.”
New this year the Buyers Fair offered a “CHS Connections” area where Cenex operators could interact with all the CHS vendors in one place. Michael Durant, Best-selling author and inspiration for the movie Black Hawk Down, gave an inspiring and insightful presentation about leadership, strategy and focus for a business operation, drawing on his experience in the military and on managing his own innovative technologies organization, Pinnacle Solutions.
In a recent survey sent out to all attendees, over 90% of respondents said they gained at least one new tool or resource they could use in their operation as a result of attending this year’s Buyers Fair. They also said they would recommend others they attend this event next year. Also, the vendors who exhibited this year, over 65% said they gained new business from current and new customers and they established new contacts with Cenex operators.
